3 Customer Convenience Upgrades For Your Parking Garage

Posted on: 27 June 2018

Parking garages offer a vital service, particularly in busy urban areas. However, they don't have to be drab, utilitarian spaces. Adding the right customer upgrades can provide a better experience for the price paid to park in your garage. Here are a few upgrades to consider for your parking garage to make customers want to park at your location.

1. Car Accessory Vending Machines

Vending machines offer a great way to bring in extra revenue, and stocking the right items in the vending machines can provide a better parking experience for your customers. Car accessory vending machines can provide the tools people need to keep their cars running smoothly, which can come in handy in the event of car trouble. Consider adding vending machines to each floor of your parking garage, and stock them with motor oil, washer fluid, coolant, and tire patches. You can also add convenience items, such as air fresheners or license plate holders. The vending machines should accept credit card payments, as not all of your customers will have enough cash on hand to make these types of purchases.

2. Self-Pay Stations

Help your customers avoid long lines when exiting the parking garage by setting up self-pay stations. These pay stations can be installed near your elevator banks, so they are in well-lit areas of the garage. Your customers can simply insert their tickets and pay through the machine. When exiting the building, they can then present their receipt to before exiting. Some self-pay systems work with automated exit gates so that the receipt can be inserted into the exit booth. This can help you cut down on payroll costs while keeping traffic flowing throughout the parking garage.

3. Floor Naming System

Remembering that you parked in section A-1 of a parking garage isn't always easy. Some customers may quickly forget which section of your garage they parked in, which can be a frustrating experience. Coming up with a clever floor naming system can be a big help for customers. Consider painting the tops of the columns on each floor a different color and reinforce that color by painting the elevator area to match.

You can also come up with witty names for each floor. For example, you might name each floor after a different state or a different city in your state. Popular sports teams and musicians can also make great names for your floors. This means customers can remember that they parked in Alabama or Chicago, for example, instead of trying to remember a letter and number.

Talk to your customers about the changes they might like to see and use that information to find other upgrade options you can use in your parking garage. For more information, contact your local garage and lot parking builders.

Understanding Different Auto Problems

Few things are more frustrating than dealing with a car that is always having problems. I started carefully considering my own car issues a few years ago, and it felt like I was never going to get to the bottom of things. Fortunately, a friend of mine who is great with cars kind of took me under his wing and helped me to identify some problems. He talked with me about everything from getting regular maintenance to improving the overall look and feel of the inside of the car. I wanted to do something to help other people the way he helped me, so I started up this website.
